“Due to an online error with this summer’s ticket sales, we anticipate that the student section will be over capacity for the Michigan game. In order to avoid reseating some students, we wanted to give you the opportunity to trade in your seat and move up to a chairback seat. And, to thank you for helping us out, you’ll get some incredible benefits as well. Choose from 3 great packages.”
The story first reported by OnwardState.com states that the Penn State Ticket Office oversold tickets to this years game against Michigan. A problem that they are dealing with by offering three options for students to choice from before Thursday at midnight.
Option 1: 50% for next years Student Season Ticket OR two tickets to next year’s homecoming game.
Option 2: $200 donation to THON in the students name. THON raises funds and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer.
Option 3: Pregame on-field access to a future game this season- Illinois, Purdue, or Nebraska.
In addition to all these options students will still get to go to the game, receiving a ticket in the Upper South Endzone for the Michigan game. It might not be in the student section, but they still get to go to the game, which should be the most important thing. It seems as though the ticket office at Penn State is handling this well. Offering diverse options of an individual students choosing.
