The Yankees finished third in the AL East last season for only the second time since 1992, when they finished 5th. Hampered by injuries to Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, and many other players the Yankees were still able to finish the season with a winning record of 88-77, but the AL East has proven to be one of the toughest divisions in baseball. Finishing ahead of the Yankees were the Red Sox (97-65) and Tampa Bay Rays (92-71). Next year the Yankees will have a lot of decisions to make regarding players and contracts, but they have already decided to cut prices on 9,000 seats (18%).
According to the New York Daily News Yankee stadium will decrease prices in 9,000 seats, keep the same pricing in 39,000 seats, and raise prices in just 2,000 seats.
Terrace Level: some tickets will go from $40 to $28.
Main Level: some tickets will go from $70 to $50.
