If the first two rounds’ action is any indication of what fans should expect for the sweet sixteen and elite eight rounds, than those going to the Louisville/Kentucky game are in for a treat. The long-standing blue grass rivals will face off in the round of 16 this Friday for a chance to move one step closer to the Final Four and another National Championship. December 28th – The only meeting of the year was in Lexington, where the Cats took a 73-66 victory
March 17th – Louisville wins both AAC league and tournament championships and finishes the regular season ranked #5 with a 29-5 record. UK finishes second behind Florida in both SEC standings and the conference tournament. They finish just outside the top 25 and with a 24-10 record
March 23rd – UK beats #1 seed Wichita St. and Louisville beats St. Louis University to advance to the Sweet 16
