Summer is known for being concert season. But with so many concerts to pick from, which ones are really worth your time or money? I am going to give you the breakdown of the top 6 hottest concerts around Cincinnati this summer:
1. Beyoncé and Jay-Z
Of course the top of my list is Music Royalty, Beyoncé and Jay-Z. After their controversial 2014 Grammy Performance of “Drunk in Love,” everyone wants a ticket to see the power couple perform. The “On the Run” Tour will take place in Great American Ballpark on June 28th. There’s not a bad seat in the house because even with a nose bleed seat in the stadium, you can expect to have the time of your life singing along with Beyoncé and attempting to rap with Jay-Z. Who knows if these two will ever team up again for a nationwide tour?
2. Dave Matthews Band
On the other side of the music spectrum, Dave Matthews band has a summer tour called, “A Very Special Evening with Dave.” This tour is expected to make everyone happy with their 2 sets, acoustic and electric. They are scheduled to perform at Riverbend on July 9th. Dave Matthews is known to deliver a good time.
3. Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band
According to the Executive Director of Riverbend, “Summer time in Cincinnati would not be the same without Jimmy Buffett!” This is the 27th consecutive year that Buffett has performed at Riverbend and with a total of 47 performances to date. The 67 year old has been in the music industry for over 40 years and based on the music, Buffett’s wardrobe, to the full Margaritaville experience, very little has changed over time. This year’s tour, “This One’s For You” is expected to live up to expectations.
4. Luke Bryan
Obviously, I can’t forget about country concerts; it’s what Riverbend is known for. The tailgates are almost as fun as the actual concerts with all the pickup trucks, cornhole sets and plenty of cold beer. Some of the most sought after concert tickets this summer are for Luke Bryan. Because of popular demand, Luke Bryan will be at Riverbend for two nights in a row in his tour called “That’s My Kind of Night”, August 23rd and 24th. He is one of only a few acts to do this this summer, and both shows are already sold out. Everyone wants him to see him “Shake it.”
5. Jamboree in the Hills Music Festival
Sometimes one night of country just isn’t enough. To fix this problem, there are day-long country music festivals all over Ohio. One of the biggest country music festivals in Ohio is called Jamboree in the Hills or also referred to as the “Superbowl of Country Music.” It involves 4 straight days of country music with some of the biggest names in the industry. It starts on July 17 and lasts until July 20th. However, before you pack up all of your camping gear and make the trip to Morristown, OH you must prepare yourself for what is called the “Red Neck Run.” Early in the morning, thousands of people gather at the gate with their running shoes and tarps to claim their spot on the lawn. This is something you have to see for yourself… “Red Neck Run” Video
For Jamboree in the Hills 2014, they are expecting about 150,000 people total in attendance for the 4 day-long event.
6. MOVE Live On Tour feat Julianne Hough and Derek Hough
If you are looking for more than just a vocal performance, MOVE Live on Tour is for you. It features the dancing, brother sister duo of Julianna and Derek Hough. Both are known for their multiple champion titles on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars and their incredible stage presence. You can expect a full-on performance with multiple costume changes, everything from group to solo performances and a large variety of dancing styles. Juliana and Derek described the show as “a cross between a Broadway spectacular and the hippest, coolest dance party you’ve ever been to.” The two will be in Cincinnati at PNC Pavilian on July 2nd and have already sold out the venue. If you are lucky enough to grab a ticket, there is an added bonus of a free pre-show cookout compliments of Kroger and Blue Grass Quality Meats with a full selection of Brats, Mets and Hot Dogs.
The only thing that stands in the way of a fun-filled summer is a piece of paper commonly referred to as a ticket. Well not to worry! We have you covered. We have tickets to some of the hottest shows listed above even though some of them are “SOLD OUT.”
Going to the biggest concerts of the summer should be fun, not stressful. That’s why Tixers is here to help eliminate the stress of buying these hard to get tickets and leaves the fun part up to you.
