What To Look Forward To This Weekend in Cincinnati! Bunbury, Baseball, and More Concerts

Bunbury Music Festival All Weekend Long

Bunbury is back for its third year and once again it’s bringing a whole lotta talent! This year the indie-rock/pop festival down at Sawyer’s Point will be headlined by Paramore, Empire of the Sun, Fall Out Boy, and the Flaming Lips. But as the fest has shown in its brief history it always bring a much deeper roster to fill up multiple stages over the weekend.

In addition to the headliners, bands like Fitz And The Tantrums, Young The Giant, New Politics, and Cage The Elephant will be there. There are tons of more bands to name, and if you want to see the full lineup, check it out here. But for your viewing pleasure I thought I would put a list of the best music videos of bands at Bunbury this year.

Friday July 11th

Cincinnati Reds vs. Pittsburgh Pirates @ Great American Ballpark at 7:10 PM

It’s Firework Friday again as the Reds open up another weekend home stand, this time against the central division foes Pittsburgh Pirates. In addition to the fireworks after the game, Friday is also Girls Night Out at Great American. As part of Girls Night Out festivities, free Sweaty Bands head band to the first 10,000 ladies will be given out.

Sarah McLachlan @ Riverbend at 8:00 PM

McLachlan sings at "The Women's Conference 2010" in Long Beach

Multi-platinum and Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Sarah McLachlan is bringing her Sing On tour to Riverbend this weekend. She is one of the most celebrated singer songwriters in entertainment with over 40 million albums sold worldwide. Additionally she has three-time Grammy Award winner with two of those coming from her fifth album, the 10x-platinum SURFACING, containing songs: “Building a Mystery” and “Last Dance.”

Saturday July 12th

Zappa Plays Zappa @ Bogarts at 7:00 PM


From the son of Frank Zappa, Dweezil Zappa’s music camp Dweezilla has a motto “Learn And Destroy.” It refers to destroying the boundaries that confine music creativity. While on tour with Zappa Plays Zappa Dweezil will be previewing some of the guitar concepts he teaches at camp in a special event prior to each concert.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Pittsburgh Pirates @ Great American Ballpark at 7:15 PM


Saturday is Billy Hamilton Bobblehead Night, and the first 25,000 fans will get a chance to have a piece of memorabilia from the speedy outfielder. Unlike the normal 4:10 PM starting time on a Saturday, the Reds will be playing the full game under the lights. Don’t miss it!

Sunday, July 13th

Cincinnati Reds vs. Pittsburgh Pirates @ Great American Ballpark at 1:10 PM


Sunday is Family Day at Great American, and as part of the promotion the first 8,000 kids 14 and younger will receive a plush doll of Todd Frazier, the All-Star infielder.
