This indie rock group that hails from LA is coming to Cincy and their brining along special guests Portugal. The Man. Grouplove scored success in 2011 with their hit single “Tongue Tied” and have been touring and making a new album every since. Their latest album, “Spreading Rumours” reached #21 on the Billboard 200.

4. Cincinnati Reds vs. New York Mets
| @ Great American Ballpark | Friday 7:10PM, Saturday 4:10PM, and Sunday 1:10PM |
Let’s just address the elephant in the room: the Reds aren’t making the playoffs this year. At this point the Cubs seem like they have a better chance of making the playoffs, which is sad. But you know what it means for teams out of the playoff race? Fans will get to see future players as September call-ups occur. It may seem like a consolation prize, which it is, but it’s at least something to look forward to.
3. Mainstrasse Village Oktoberfest
| @ 406 W 6th St. Covington, KY | All Weekend Long |
Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky is known for their Oktoberfest festivals and it all kicks off with Covington’s Mainstrasse Village Oktoberfest. So grab your lederhosen and some money for a stein, because chicken dancing is happening this weekend.
Why Oktoberfest is in September is still beyond me, but it doesn’t matter (especially when beir cheese is involved).
2. WKNU Ohio River Throwdown featuring Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, and many more
| @ Riverbend | Saturday | Doors Open at 12PM |
“The second annual Ohio River Throwdown returns to Riverbend Music Center and PNC Pavilion this September. 1. Rascal Flatts & Sheryl Crow
| @ Riverbend | Friday | Doors Open at 6:00PM |
Riverbend’s summer schedule may be coming to a close but that doesn’t mean that big acts aren’t still coming to Cincinnati as evidence by country superstars Rascal Flatts and special guest Sheryl Crow. Rascal Flatts needs no introduction, but the band that has won countless CMT and ACM awards as well as several Grammy’s was actually formed right here in Ohio.
The Columbus-formed band formed in 1999, and from then on have been topping the charts with hits like, “Prayin’ for Daylight” “Mayberry” “Bless the Broken Road” “Fast Cars and Freedom” “My Wish” “Summer Night” and many, many more.
Sheryl Crow has won 9 Grammy awards and is known for her acoustic guitar and soulful voice. She is sure to compliment the country trio well on the 2014 Rewind Tour.
