#5 Auburn (2-0) @ #20 Kansas St. (2-0)
Thursday | 7:30PM | ESPN
Auburn is favored by 9.5 points as they head to Manhattan tonight. This is a great Thursday night college game (unlike its professional counterpart, Falcons & Bucs?) that should set the table nicely for the weekend games. Neither teams have faced serious competition in the early weeks of the season, but the Tigers are still averaging a staggering 330 yard/game RUSHING. Not overall offense, just rushing.
Miami (FL) (2-1) @ #24 Nebraska (3-0)
Saturday | 8PM | ESPN2
Miami lost their opener in Louisville and Nebraska hasn’t faced any real competition through their first three games. That’s not to say that didn’t have a scare against McNeese St. (still checking if that’s an actual school). Nebraska is favored by 7, but this really could be a toss-up/upset special.
Virginia (2-1) @ #21 BYU (3-0)
Saturday | 3:30PM | ESPN
BYU, led by junior QB Taysom Hill (pictured above), is favored by 14 points against Virginia. They had a dominant win in the second week of the season against Texas, in Austin, which have led some analyst to pick the Brigham Young QB as a dark horse to win the Heisman.
Mississippi State (3-0) at #8 LSU (3-0)
Saturday | 7PM | ESPN
LSU is favored by 10 in this game. Mississippi State is 3-0 against three meager opponents: South Alabama, UAB, and Southern Miss. While Miss St. was eating cupcakes the first three weeks LSU faced a tough Wisconsin team at a neutral site that they had to come from behind to win.
#4 Oklahoma (3-0) @ West Virginia (2-1)
Saturday | 7:30PM | FOX
Oklahoma is favored by 7.5 points against the Mountaineers. They’ll be wearing these jerseys for the game…enjoy
Florida (2-0) @ #3 Alabama (3-0)
Saturday | 3:30PM | CBS
Alabama is favored 14.5 points at home as they host the undefeated Gators in Tuscaloosa. Florida is coming off a game against Kentucky that went into triple overtime, with the Gators almost losing on a fourth and seven play (they haven’t lost to Kentucky in 28 years). This will be the Tide’s best competition of the early season.
#22 (1-1) Clemson @ #1 Florida State (2-0)
Saturday | 8PM | ABC
Clemson started off its season with a big loss in Athens, when they got trounced by Gerogia 45-21. Florida State is still favored by 20 points even after it was announced Heisman winner Jameis Winston will be sitting out the first half of the game due to vulgar comments he shouted out in the student union. Redshirt sophomore Sean Maguire will take over for him in his absence.
Last week I didn’t include the top 25 average ticket prices for college football, presented by TiqIQ, this week it’s back. Florida State doesn’t even crack the top 25, despite being ranked #1 in the polls by AP and USA Today:
